O.N.A. Convention History
The Ontario Numismatic Association stemmed from a meeting of delegates invited to attend the Waterloo Coin Society convention in March 1961.
A committee was formed to investigate the formation of a provincial numismatic organization. The committee made such a proposal at the London Numismatic Society convention in October 1961 where the proposal was approved for implementation. The committee was instructed to hold a Founding Convention at the Waterloo Coin Society convention in March 1962. Mr. Rod R Rekofski was the first president.
The founding convention was held at the Walper Hotel, Kitchener, in connection with the third annual convention of the Waterloo Coin Society in 1962.
