Benefits of Membership in the O.N.A.

800_9hiua2qsjeollff1f9nvThe Ontario Numismatic Association, is devoted to helping you get the most out of your hobby; through education and fellowship. Our prime objectives are the dissemination of information on the numismatic goings-on throughout Ontario as well as the promotion of research and study through our publication The Ontario Numismatist. Members range from individual collectors and local clubs to professional numismatists and dealers. Read-on to see how membership can benefit you!

The Ontario Numismatist is the official publication of the ONA. It is published 6 times a year; each issue is chock-full of educational articles, choice articles reprinted from our member club newsletters as well as useful information on local coin club activities, coin shows and auction events. This information is crucial to help with your plans to attend these special events. The Ontario Numismatist will also keep you informed about the association’s annual convention including educational programs, dealer bourse participation, as well as information on our convention medal and awards banquet. The Ontario Numismatist, in short, is a numismatic life-line for all members. If you would like to see a recent issue as a sample, just ask. As an added membership benefit, an archive of our past issues is available through our website.

7524194380_7ea0de7986The ONA library is a great member benefit! Reference books and recent auction catalogues can be borrowed for the cost of return postage. A complete listing of the library contents is available through the ONA website. The A/V lending library includes numismatic programs on a wide variety of topics; either VCR tape or DVD programs can be borrowed by members. A nominal fee of $5.00 covers handling and postage one way, with the borrower pre-paying the return postage. This fee applies whether you are borrowing one or a number of programs. As an added benefit to our member clubs, they have access, free-of-charge, to PowerPoint slide presentations and VCR tape programs which can be used to supplement club meeting content. These presentations deal with a wide variety of world numismatic topics, from ancient to modern, including– Canadian, U.S. European, Asian, coins, paper money, tokens and medals.

In addition to all of the above, member coin clubs in Ontario can take advantage of the special liability insurance the association offers through the Hugh Woods Insurance Company; essential protection for club meetings and events.

And last but not least our website at www.the-ona.ca a perfect way to keep up with late-breaking announcements, research material and this application form.
